This year, our Mid-Atlantic College Camp was held at Sandy Hill Camp and Conference Center in North East, MD. We had 6 student athletes attend from University of Maryland; three from Soccer, two from Wrestling and one from Track. We also had a volunteer and an assistant coach come up and visit for a day.
Overall, we had 118 student athletes from 45 different colleges and universities in attendance. Our speaker, Johnny Shelton, is the chaplain for the Ravens. He shared along the camp theme, Strong, and how true strength comes from God. Students participated in worship and were put into small groups (huddles) for more intimate conversation and follow up. They also enjoyed competition on Saturday and Sunday as well as free time, breakout sessions and a baptism on Monday morning.
“It was amazing being on top of the mountain with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, and this camp taught me how to be strong and help others while in the valley of day to day life.” - Hope Lewandoski from Soccer
“My experience will help me to stay calm and compete in freedom rather than fear.”
- Danny Bertoni from Wrestling
“I made new friends from all over the place, I prayed the hardest and longest I’ve ever prayed before in my life, and I got a little taste of what it’s like to truly live and play for God.” - Andi Wenck from Soccer
